How to get your AHC

1. Check your pet's rabies vaccine is up to date

Most rabies vaccinations given in the UK are valid for three years. Rabies vaccinations must have been given at least 21 days before we can issue an AHC (unless the vaccine was an in-date booster) and pets must be at least 12 weeks old at the time of vaccination.

2. Request an appointment at a day and time to suit you

Use the online appointment request page to book an appointment at a time to suit you. The appointment must be at least 21 days after rabies vaccination and within 10 days of travel.

3. Ask your vet to email us proof of rabies vaccination

Ask your usual vet to email us the clinical history showing your pet's most recent rabies vaccination. This needs to include evidence that the microchip was scanned at the time of vaccination. If you are using an old pet passport as proof of vaccination please email clear, in focus photographs to pettravelcertificatevet@gmail.com

Click the "pre-appointment form" tab to digitally complete and submit the pre-appointment form. Please double check all details you have provided are correct before submitting at least three working days before your appointment to qualify for a non-urgent AHC.

5. Collect your AHC

Once your appointment has been confirmed, come along with your pet to collect your AHC!

You must bring your pet with you to the appointment, and the person named on the AHC must attend the appointment too.
